Paco Pérez-Dolz, a filmmaker A tiro limpio

In the plethora of centenarian names that we honored in the summer program, it was only fitting to include Paco Pérez-Dolz (1922-2017), an illustrious professional of Catalan cinema for whom we have booked a special session.

This documentary, in which Pérez-Dolz himself reviews his professional career, also becomes a portrait of the Catalan film industry of the classic stage. Since he started in cinema in 1941 as a meritorious cameraman and assistant cameraman, Pérez-Dolz has acted in about sixty films (among others, works by Juli Salvador, Rovira Beleta and Miquel Iglesias). In 1963, he turned to directing with A tiro limpio, a film that established him as a key man in Barcelona police cinema.

His passage through the world of advertising and cinematographic teaching at the ESCAC center are the end point of a lifetime dedicated to cinema and recognized with the National Cinematography Award awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya *Later round table with Joan Marimón (filmmaker), Ferran Alberich (author of the book Paco Pérez-Dolz. El camí de l'ofici), Jordi Marcos (director of the film), Trini Gilabert and Judit Colell (filmmaker and president of Academy of Catalan Cinema).
