Information
Description
This boy's adventure began in Parcelles Assainies (a neighborhood on the outskirts of Dakar). His uncle lived there. Pape Diouf went there to learn plumbing. In his spare time, he devoted himself to his passion: music.
Thus he approached a group of builders from the Patte d'oie (another neighborhood on the outskirts of Dakar): "le Mbollo". After this adventure, which did not work out, the son of Guinaw Rail - as the Senegalese press likes to call it -, joined in 1995 the "Lemzo Diamono", the group of Lamine Faye (former member of the Super Diamono). He recorded the song "Cocorico". A success that propelled him to the top of the charts. In 2001 he meets Jimmy Mbaye (the soloist of Super Etoile), who helps him record his album "Joggël Daggu" under the label "Jololi". The following year, he self-produced and published "Live au Bidew."
In 2012 Pape Diouf returned to the Senegalese music scene with the album "Partir". The homonymous hit of the album is the mbalax version (the typical Senegal rhythm) of the song "Con te partó" by the Italian Andrea Bocelli
