Description
On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Jose Luis López Vázquez (March 11, 1922 - November 2, 2009), the Ministerio de Cultura y Deporte launches an exhibition dedicated to one of the less-known facets of this fundamental face of cinema esp Anol: the cartoonist.
Under the title “From the stage to the screen. The designs of Jose Luis López Vázquez”, the sample proposes a itinerary that covers from his beginnings and training period, to his works as a figure artist and stageographer, as well as his work in the field of graphic design. All of these activities he accompanied with the actor until, in 1958 and after starring "El pisito" (Marco Ferreri), he abandoned the drawing to dedicate his efforts to interpretation.
The exhibition, which has been commissioned by the cathedral of Art History Joaquin Canovas Belchí, will be able to visit for free at the headquarters of Filmoteca Española, located in the Madrileña Street Magdalena 10, from March 10 until March 10 on June 5, 2022
“From the stage to the screen. The designs of Jose Luis López Vázquez” have been possible thanks to the collaboration of individuals, especially his son José Luis Lópeze Magerus and the recently deceased actress Carmen de la Maza, and institutions such as Museo Nacional del Teatro
