Description

This eight-piece collective from England, Italy, France, Congo, Argentina, and New Zealand combines traditional Afrobeat and hi-life with funk, jazz, Latin, and dub to deliver party music born from their truly global DNA. A regular hit on the UK and European touring circuit, renowned for their raucous energy and conscious lyrics, the band has rocked venues from Glastonbury Festival (UK) to the Lagos Shrine (Nigeria), Imagina Funk (Spain), Fusion Festival (Germany), Cully Jazz (Switzerland), Tempo Latino (France), Earth Garden (Malta), and many more.

The band's forthcoming fourth album is titled Esengo (Canopy Records – release date: February 14, 2024), which means joy in Lingala. Produced by Sonny Johns (Tony Allen and Hugh Masekela, Oumou Sangare, Ali Farke Toure, Polar Bear), the album finds the band in a lighter mood, celebrating the joy of living, reconnecting with their audience once again, and continuing to use joy as a symbol of resilience.
