Description
PATAX is currently Spain's most prominent fusion band and already a worldwide known project. With more than 100,000 followers on Facebook and 24 million views on YouTube, Patax continues an unstoppable trajectory.
Drawing on the legacy of jazz legends such as Weather Report, Corea's Electric Band, Herbie Hancock, and Zawinul Syndicate, and without hiding the powerful influence of the visionary work of Iraqere, Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Enrique Morente, Hermeto Pascoal, and Paco de Lucía, PATAX takes the concept of "fusion" into completely uncharted territory, where the interplay between flamenco, funk, jazz, and Afro-Cuban rhythms is the key to its complex, explosive, and magical atmospheres.
The Madrid-based band, faithful to its jazz fusion style, releases its new album "Us." A surprising collection of original songs recorded live with an audience
"US" takes us on a musical journey through electrifying, head-turning songs combined with beautiful ballads, bursts of Afro-Cuban rhythms, moments full of flamenco spirit, and, of course, a signature tribute to one of the greatest figures in music, Prince.
The highlight is the impressive Aurora García and her absolute command of any register, along with the effervescence of the young dancer Sara Sánchez, accompanied by a consolidated group of excellent musicians including Jorge Vera, Dany Noel, Valentin Iturat, Ariel Bringuez, Roberto Pacheco, Dani Morales, Miguel Sempere, Raúl Gil, Raúl Venegas, and the vocal collaborations of Alana Sinkëy and Génesis de Jesús.
A major step forward for Patax, a band that, once again, is strongly committed to the jazz-fusion-Afro-Cuban-flamenco-funk concept they believe in and have championed for years, with ever-improving arguments.
Enjoy the party!
