It's surprisingly unusual to see a percussionist taking on the role of composer and director of a large band. Jorge Pérez, a percussionist trained in Madrid and Cuba and a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, is driven by a vision: a new concept that blends many seemingly unrelated styles, fully aware of their respective roots and identities, and presented from a fiercely contemporary perspective. This ambitious goal demands talent, determination, tenacity… and a group of extraordinary musicians, capable of pushing the boundaries. Among them are the impressive Aurora García, with her absolute mastery of any register, and the effervescence of the young flamenco dancer Sara Sánchez, accompanied by a solid core of excellent musicians including Jorge Vera, Santi Greco, Roberto Pacheco, Dani Morales, and Raúl Venegas, as well as stellar collaborators in many of their concerts.
