Description

For the first time, one of the most important palace houses in the city opens its doors at dusk to reveal its most hidden secrets: La Casa de los Pinelo. Under the light of the moon and behind closed doors we will discover the stories that are hidden between its walls and gardens. The Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary with the collaboration of Cultural Gears have designed a series of night visits to the Casa de los Pinelo, headquarters of the institution and one of the most unique palace houses in the city. The visit will be structured around the characters that lived in the house and the different memories that make up the history and the tangible and intangible heritage of this place.

During the tour we will not only discover the history of this house and the city, but also the characters that have lived in it. What relationship do Murillo, Luis Montoto, Picasso, Gonzalo Bilbao or Antonio Susillo have with this place? We will enter behind closed doors and under the moonlight in one of the most fascinating places in the city to discover within its walls illustrious characters, men and women who made the Arts their lives and who left us their memory hidden in the rooms of the house.

On the way we will be able to enjoy its extensive, rich and sometimes unknown heritage, not only architectural, but on our walk we will discover pictorial works attributed to important authors such as Pablo Picasso, or the “Portrait of Don Jacobo Fitz James Stuart y Falcó, XVII Duque de Alba ”painted by Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor and given for its exhibition by the XVIII Duchess of Alba.

In addition to other paintings by great Sevillian painters such as García Ramos, Gonzalo Bilbao or Alfonso Grosso. We will also discover some of the most important pieces of contemporary Seville sculpture, thanks to the collection kept in the upper gallery. We will also be able to enjoy one of the most important collections of Oriental Art in Andalusia and the collection of Contemporary Art.

On our walk we will also discover documents as interesting as the original and manuscript by Murillo for which he founded the "Academy of the Art of Painting." And of course curious works such as a walking cape autographed by Pablo Picasso himself or a sculpture of the Roman Goddess Pomona, which today presides over the garden of the house but was once on the main facade of the Market of the Incarnation. This nocturnal visit will combine History, Art and Memories of very interesting characters, to get closer in a unique way to an exceptional place in the city.
