After countless hours together and almost three decades as a duo, Michel Camilo and Tomatito continue to explore the full range of colors offered by their instruments, driven by the deep connection and tireless passion for learning that each retrobament provides.
"He faces Riem every time he enters the scene, off and on stage," Camilo said. "We wouldn't be able to enjoy the music we have if we don't stay in tune," said Tomatito.
This duo was founded in 1997 with the only objective of life connecting the two artists together. Ara, in their fourth joint album, Spain Forever Again, Camilo reflects on the recording and his subsequent live performances: «No lack of res, no excess of res. "The experience is not improvised." The repertoire of this unique culmination of a journey of four albums includes music by Chucho Valdés, Pat Metheny, Milers Davis, Joaquín Rodrigo and La llegenda del temps, a piece closely associated with Camarón de la Isla.
