Present, past and future of open data portals of government institutions.
About this event
The creation, dissemination and reuse of open portals already has a long history. As some theorists point out, its launch can be found in Obama's 2009 Declaration on Open Government, although some analysts consider that it was much earlier. In this context of opening up public sector information, one of the first non-profit entities that supported and promoted the initiative was the Open Knowledge Foundation. The association itself established the definition of the concept of "open data" on a global scale in 2005, where it established what would be the standard for this type of data and which has served as a global benchmark.
On May 18 and 19, 2022, the International Congress on Open Data and Transparency will be held in Valencia, promoted by the Conselleria de Participació, Transparència, Cooperació i Qualitat Democràtica through the Observatori Valencià de Dades Obertes i Transparència together with the University of Alicante, Open Knowledge Foundation and Datause.
