Exhibition "In search of meta-infinity" - Shigeru Ōnishi

Bombas Gens hosts «In search of meta-infinity»: the first major exhibition in Europe of Shigeru Ōnishi, whose art stands out for transcending the limits of time and space through his photographic and pictorial work. Graduated in Mathematics, the Japanese artist applied knowledge of these complex sciences in the elaboration of his creations.

This peculiarity causes his pieces to speak a singular artistic language, and makes them difficult to classify in a specific style. His pictorial art is characterized by abstract elements painted in ink, and his photographs break established norms, resulting in extraordinary images.

And it is that the photos of him are not a simple capture, but they show multiple moments gathered in a single image.

During development, Ōnishi intentionally manipulated the prints to achieve dreamlike and magical montages. "In search of meta-infinity" compiles a series of photographs that belong to the "Per Amor a l'Art" Collection and a wide selection of large-scale abstract paintings by the author.
