Place:Valencia, Bancaja Foundation

Description

A hundred works by Mediterranean artists such as Joaquín Sorolla, Santiago Rusiñol, Antoni Tàpies or Miquel Barceló make up the exhibition “Paths of modernity 1860 - 1980”.

This exhibition, made up mostly of exclusive pieces from the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, has been installed at the Valencian headquarters of the Bancaja Foundation to offer the public a unique artistic journey.

The adventure begins with creations from the beginnings of naturalism.

Progressively, the itinerary advances towards movements such as modernism, luminism or noucentisme. After showing the innovative but melancholic attitude of the artists of these periods, "Modern Paths" puts the final touch to the exhibition with different avant-garde works that express a new concept of beauty. «Paths of modernity 1860 - 1980» is an original exhibition with which to enjoy a unique retrospective tour of various pictorial movements from the second half of the 19th century to the 1980s.

Take the opportunity to discover the evolution of Mediterranean art without having to leave Valencia :)
