The festival, which has the collaboration of the Diputació de València, will take place from August 4 to 29 with more than twenty shows, eight at the Roman Theater and 14 at the Off Romano.

The programming of the 38th edition of the Sagunt a Scene festival has more than twenty shows and will take place between August 4 and 29 at the Roman Theater of Sagunto.

PROGRAMMING AT THE ROMAN THEATER
Eight shows with a dozen performances will be presented at the Roman Theater . There will be an international presence, premieres, music, dance, circus and classical and contemporary theater. The opening of the festival at the Roman Theater will be on August 4, with the premiere of the IVC circus production 'Los locos 20', by the Valencian company La Troupe Malabó, created by Marisa Ibáñez and Jordi Purtí. The show will also run on August 5.

The programming continues on August 8 with the performance of the company Casa Conveniente / Zona Não Vigiada of the Portuguese Mónica Calle, with the show 'Carta'. On stage there will be 15 classical musicians and 15 dancers to the music of Beethoven's 7th Symphony. Mónica Calle is a Portuguese director, set designer and actress with a long and prestigious career, artistically situated between experimental theater and text theater; the creators who have marked it the most are the choreographer Pina Bausch and the Polish director and theorist Taudeusz Kantor.

On August 12, the concert of the pianist and writer James Rhodes is presented, who turns the traditional classical concert into a truly inclusive experience. He is a singular communicator who with a unique mix of wit and sense of humor makes classical music accessible to all.

On August 14 and 15, the performance 'La casa de los espíritus', theatrical version of the novel by Isabel Allende, directed by Carme Portaceli and starring Carme Conesa, arrives at the Roman Theater. A co-production of the Spanish Theater of Madrid and the Greek Festival of Barcelona.

Flamenco will be present in the program with a performance on August 18 by Eduardo Guerrero, a dancer who celebrates his company's tenth birthday and who is at the best moment of his career, with a current aesthetic and refined technique. In Sagunto we will see him with the guest artists Pasión Vega and Maria Terremoto.

The dance continues with the show 'Sonoma' by the La Veronal company on August 21. Its director, the Valencian Marcos Morau, reflects on the figure of Buñuel, around medieval Calanda and cosmopolitan Paris, between Jesuit discipline and surrealist freedom.

Two classical theater plays close the festival. On August 26 we will be able to see 'Edipo', a production of the Mérida Festival with Alejo Sauras as the protagonist; and on August 28 we will be able to enjoy the 'Clytemnestra', directed by Agustí Villaronga, in a production at the Teatro Principal in Palma de Mallorca.

OFF ROMAN
With regard to the Off Romano shows , we find a very varied program for all audiences. The performances will be in the Glorieta, the Pujada al Castell, the Civic Center and the Casa de Berenguer. There are circus shows, vertical dance, acrobatics, clown, tightrope walking, juggling and music.

In the Glorieta we can enjoy the circus shows of the companies Nostraxladamus, Trocos Lucos, Shavethe temazo.org, and La Industrial Teatrera, the music of the groups Smoking Souls and Marala and the dance of Zen del Sur.

At the Pujada al Castell we will be able to see the dance companies of Mar Gómez, with the show 'Splastick' and David Vento Dance Theater, the vertical dance of the Ferrer & Weidmann company and the circus of the Lucas Escobedo company with the show 'Paüra' .

In the Civic Center of the Port of Sagunto the Chicarrón Circo Flamenco companies will perform with the show 'Sin Ojana' and the Circo Bover with the function 'Avol'

And on August 17 at the Casa de Berenguer, Scaena Graecolatina will present 'Eleuthería: Libertad', a show that commemorates the 200 years of independence of Modern Greece.
