Description

The Chorus, the Musical
A Unique and Exceptional Soundtrack

A wonderful musical show for all ages, based on the film that captivated the world.

"The Chorus, the Musical" tells the story of forgotten children, but also of the path that crosses the rainbow and leads to the light of April. It speaks of innocence, play, and love... It speaks of effort and solidarity, of work and enthusiasm... It speaks of life. It speaks of art.

In 1949, substitute teacher Clement Mathieu arrives at the boarding school "Bottom of the Pond," where the headmaster, Rachin, has imposed a strict and rigorous regime with no place for music. Mathieu, a former composer who had fallen on hard times, breaks the rules to reveal the beauty of the world to young people raised under the harshness of World War II. With this approach, inspired by his own childhood and an old French classic, Christophe Barratier created one of the truly unforgettable films of the early 21st century, enhanced by Bruno Coulais's sublime music.

"The Chorus, the Musical" is not just an adaptation of a film we all love. It is, at the same time, a statement about the necessity of music, of art, for personal growth. As the ancient philosophers and thinkers said, it's not just that music tames the savage beast (in this case, children who are more mischievous than ferocious), but that art is what makes us truly human. Without sensitivity, without delicacy, without the nuances that illuminate the soul and personality, we would not be free, much less truly understand others.
