TURANDOT - Opera

Description

In March 2022, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma staged Turandot, Giacomo Puccini's considered masterpiece and his last, unfinished opera. Puccini suffered from a deadly disease and is believed to have died holding a sheet from the third act. His friend Arturo Toscani was in charge of finishing it. This work proposes a mixture between the musical intensity of the arias and traditional Chinese songs. There could not have been a more energetic ending for Giacomo Puccini. The exoticism of the historical background and the energy of the score make the entire work vibrate.
