The Infant and Primary students of CEIP l’Urgell have carried out a joint project dedicated to the study of Ibizan words, with the aim of preserving the linguistic heritage and strengthening the cultural identity of the island.
Each class group has investigated a selection of words, discovering their meaning, origin and use. The process has generated very valuable spaces for dialogue and has enriched the vocabulary of the entire center. As a result, each group has produced a sheet with the written word, its meaning and a drawing, working on linguistic, artistic and communicative skills adapted to different ages and levels.
The treasure of the words of our land is a space full of color, creativity and words that are part of our history, where all the sheets produced by the different groups are displayed.
The entire community is welcome to visit the exhibition and rediscover words that are part of the heritage of Ibiza. Recovering words is also recovering memory, identity and belonging.
