Chicho, or As Long as the Body Holds Out (a didactic comedy)

Description

Chicho o Mientras el cuerpo aguante (una comedia didáctica)
Fernando Trueba
Spain
1982
(89')

*Chicho o Mientras el cuerpo aguante (una comedia didáctica)* delves into the world of singer-songwriter Chicho Sánchez Ferlosio through a work that sits somewhere between a documentary portrait, a musical film, a philosophical conversation, and a comedy. It is a free-spirited, unconventional piece that incorporates the filming process itself into the movie, and which now returns in a 6K restoration sourced from the original 16mm negative.

Its revival offers a chance to reconnect not only with one of the most unique and unclassifiable figures in 20th-century Spanish culture but also with an early work by Fernando Trueba that already showcases his passion for music, conversation, humor, and characters who live outside the bounds of convention.
