Defined by critic J. Hoberman as the underground of the underground, experimental Super 8 film represented the spearhead of avant-garde cinema during the 1980s thanks to its small size and flexibility in circumventing all kinds of production and censorship structures. This program showcases the multiplicity of forms of personal cinema from those years (and the following decade), combining films rarely seen in Spain with one of the masterpieces by Luther Price/Tom Rhoads.
Program:
Hijâb (Frédérick Grandpré, 1994)
D.EI.N (Béatrice Slazak, 1986)
Suc (Nathalie Harran, 1996)
Warm Broth (Luther Price/Tom Rhoads, 1987-88)
> Super 8 screening, with an introduction by Pablo Marín, curator of the series.
