Description
Lamine Thior has a comedy style called Story Teller, he tells stories that always end with bizarre endings and background social messages, breaking with humorous gags at any time. “Españul” is a monologue where Lamine Thior explains her origins from Senegal to Algeciras, her cultural contrasts with her friends, her peculiar relationship with her mother and her attempt to go camping.
The transition from being an "adorable black child" to being a "criminalized black adult", her first awareness of the existence of racism and constant fetishization. Going through his mid-30s crisis with a world where all his friends have gotten married and he still doesn't even have a driver's license; without forgetting the pressure to "perpetuate" his lineage, according to Senegalese traditions. His unsuccessful attempts to flirt, over and over again that will lead him to the most surreal moments.
All this with moments of reflection and with a very powerful internal message of overcoming and breaking down barriers and prejudices. Españul is the term used for black Senegalese who grow up in Spain, who are neither Senegalese nor Spanish. A trip of 5000 km without leaving the chair. The seats are not numbered, people are located according to the order of arrival and according to whether they are going to dine during the show or not.
