SYNOPSIS
“A SHELL IN THE HEART”
“A Shell in the Heart” marks a major return to the stage for Hovik Keuchkerian, revisiting the powerful play by Wajdi Mouawad that first brought him to prominence as a dramatic actor twelve years ago.
The San Sebastián Silver Shell winner returns to move us with the story of Wahab, a young Lebanese man who—much like Hovik himself and Mouawad—was forced to flee his home country as a child due to war. This acclaimed adaptation by Santiago Sánchez—now more relevant and necessary than ever—stirs the soul by blending the author’s poetic stagecraft with the commanding, rhythmic presence of an actor who acts purely on instinct. It is a profound life lesson that, in the words of critic Javier Vallejo in *El País*, demonstrates how “theater can surpass cinema in narrative flexibility.” An unmissable opportunity to enjoy a truly unique theatrical experience.
