Theatrical genre: Comedy

Description

God of Carnage, by Yasmina Reza, is one of the most acclaimed works of contemporary theater. What begins as a cordial meeting between two couples to resolve a simple childish squabble transforms into a brutal clash of egos, hypocrisy, and hidden truths. With surgical precision and devastating humor, Reza exposes the fragility of civility and reveals the “wild god” that we all carry within us.

Starring Luis Merlo, Natalia Millán, Juanan Lumbreras, and Clara Sanchis, this version, directed by Jordi Galcerán, combines irony, pacing, and mounting tension that captivates the audience from the very first minute. God of Carnage is a brilliant and merciless comedy about human nature, social appearances, and the limits of tolerance.

A portrait of our own civilization that is as funny as it is unsettling: a modern satire on the fine line between civility and barbarism.

Approximate running time: 90 minutes
