Description

VORTEX is an exchange space between creators and institutions. Its initial objectives are to generate new perspectives for the creator and new programming content, causing an association of artistic and social disciplines. It offers a different program to the audiences of the venues involved, thus broadening the social spectrum and facilitating public access to live arts and contemporary dance. In continuity with the 2022 proposal, ELAMOR presents a dance program and workshops at CentroCentro this year in three days: an afternoon with two solos, an open call for three choreographers for the second afternoon and a piece by five dancers on the last day. . Manuel Rodríguez and Rodrigo Sobarzo (May 3) are two artists who play dance at the limit of the performative and installation. Both artists will show their experience in mediation and teaching in two collective workshops aimed at the general and specialized public. For the second day, VORTEX proposes the open call Here and now dance (June 1) that wants to become a new date on the Madrid choreographic calendar. Three proposals selected by concurrence will be shown that are adapted in joint work with ELAMOR to make a specific site in the CentroCentro spaces. Finally, the proposal of La Basal (June 14) is configured as a laboratory-meeting rooted in collective creation, music, space and the transformative possibilities of dance. Preceded by a workshop for the general public that delves, with the body, into collective creation.

ELAMOR has the objective of expanding the possibilities and fields of action in dance and live arts. Until now he has created works of a different nature, where there has also been room for the ephemeral and improvisation that have been presented at Teatros del Canal, the Prado Museum, the Royal Botanical Garden, Caixaforum, ¡SAT! Barcelona, ARCO, Conde Duque, as well as CentroCentro; establishing different models of cooperation with these institutions, to which the National Dance Company and the Círculo de Bellas Artes are added... ELAMOR has also opened collaborations, meetings and dialogues with professionals and artists from very different disciplines and is located in the center of the creation and research nodes 112LAB Barcelona and Leopoldo Madrid.
