Extraordinary Concert by the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra

On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the Teatro de la Maestranza will host one of the most important musical events of 2026, officially opening the 2026/27 season at the Seville opera house.

As previously announced, the Maestranza joins the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra for its inaugural tour, this time to commemorate the Festival's 150th anniversary. This historic and exceptional celebration will take the legendary Wagnerian ensemble to some of Spain's most prestigious concert halls.

Under the direction of Pablo Heras-Casado from Granada, the orchestra will feature a cast of world-class soloists—Catherine Foster, Klaus Florian Vogt, and Nicholas Brownlee—to perform a selection from Richard Wagner's Ring Cycle, in a program specially conceived for this commemorative tour.

The Bayreuth Festival Orchestra's tour was officially presented on October 3rd at Peralada Castle and will begin on August 29th, 2026, at the Palau de la Música Catalana, coinciding with the closing of the 40th anniversary of the Peralada Festival. After its performance at the Santander International Festival (August 31st), the orchestra will arrive at the Teatro de la Maestranza on September 2nd, followed by performances at the Teatro Real (September 3rd) and the Palau de la Música in Valencia (September 6th).
