Description

"It's vermouth time": an elegant expression and a wonderful excuse to provoke an encounter, an inspiration, a few laughs, an ‘agustera’ and an unequaled appetite.

For this, it has an exceptional master of ceremonies, the flamenco singer-songwriter Maui, who will cook a gypsy stew live, singing to it, as she commands the tradition of her Utrera.

Maui de Utrera “The kitchen table at home was my first scene; I was very successful about it: the smile of my grandmother, the applause of the neighbors, the admiration of the 2ºB boy… I started writing songs without realizing much. I reckon I was thirteen or fourteen when I made my first attempts at rhymes. It was at the same time, when I discovered that there was life beyond flamenco and I spent hours with my walkman and my headphones listening to the Beatles, Pata Negra, or Rostropovich. It didn't take long for me to get excited about the piano (I was about five years old when Mother Luján began to teach me how to music the music) and later with my father's guitar - I picked it up secretly - and I didn't discover the cello until I was 18: it was love at first This view got me hooked on studying for many years at the conservatory. I left Utrera to grow up, and I showed up one day in Granada to finally stay for 12 wonderful years. There, back in 2002, in the Albaicín, Maui and the Sirénidos were born; a project that I started with the illusion and naivety that intoxicated me at that age. After three albums with my Sirénidos, many hits and some joys, in September 2013 I decided to walk alone. I packed my suitcase and moved to Seville to experience the vertigo of giving yourself fully to this adventure, to grow, to dream aloud. From this experience was born ‘Viaje Interior’, my first solo album. Now no one can take my dance from me and sometimes I float through the streets of Malasaña, I think out of excess of happiness. Thus was born my “Por Arte de Magia”, a bouquet of fresh themes, without tricks or magic wands, and of everyday stories woven with a simple and captivating language. Maui.
