Description

If your visit to Valencia coincides with October 9, you should know that that day we Valencians celebrate the Day of the Valencian Community.

It is a double celebration, because on the one hand we commemorate the entry of King Jaume I into the city and the end of Muslim rule and on the other hand, the festival of lovers with our local Valentine: Sant Donís.

This year we return to some of the traditional acts of the festival.

PROGRAM OF EVENTS

Provisional October 6 to 8

October 6: Extraordinary concert by the València Symphonic Band, conducted by Rafael Sanz Espert, in the gardens of the Palau de la Música. October 7: - 7:00 p.m. Concert by Capella de Ministrers on his album 'Germanies' at the Palau de la Generalitat. - 19:30 h. Concert by the Valencia Orchestra, conducted by Rubén Gimeno, in the auditorium of the Palau de les Arts. Tickets will be distributed with name and telephone control on the 6th and 7th until noon at the Palau de la Música.

October 8: exhibition of the Real Senyera in the glass room of the Valencia City Council, from 4 to 9 pm. In the afternoon, the Plaza del Ayuntamiento will host the Valencian dance, music and song exhibition with the participation of the Valencian Community Folklore Federation and there will also be night masks and fireworks castles.

Fireworks castle. Urban art invades the Palau de la Generalitat Until October 8, don't miss the exhibition “Ahir, hui, semper” (“Yesterday, always today) at the Palau de la Generalitat. It is an opportunity to see how some of the best-known local urban artists reinterpret the wall paintings in the Sala Nova or Sala de Corts of the Palau de la Generalitat, which this year celebrates the 600th anniversary of the start of its construction. Barbiturikills contributes his vision of the four juries of the city of Valencia; Deih does it on the mural of the deputies of the Generalitat and Alfredo J. Pardo Martí, La Nena and Julieta, on the representatives of the royal cities and towns, while the universe of Vinz, another of the participating urban artists, moves to the allegory of justice, and that of Xèlon and David de Limón, to the military and ecclesiastical arms, respectively. Medieval market Section 9 of the Turia garden (between the bridges of the Exhibition and the Flowers) will host a medieval market where you will find crafts, food and entertainment activities. You can visit it from October 7 to 12. The best pilotaris in La Marina On October 8, the pilot will move to the sea with “Trinquet a la mar”, an initiative of La Marina de València with the support of the Fundació per la Pilota Valenciana. A new event that is part of the events scheduled to commemorate October 9, and that was born with the main objective of spreading the sport of Valencians in an unusual setting, by the sea. This first edition of "Trinquet to the sea" will be held in Shelf 2 of the historic port of València, where a space that will simulate a ratchet will be set up. Six games have been programmed that will feature the presence of twelve of the best pilotaris of the moment in the raspall and scale and corda modalities.
