"Anna Bolena": Donizetti's opera

From October 1 to 13, the bel canto director Maurizio Benini takes over the main hall of Les Arts to conduct "Anna Bolena": the famous opera composed by Gaetano Donizetti. The soprano Eleonora Buratto in the role of Anna Boleyn and the bass-baritone Alex Esposito as Henry VIII star in this lyrical tragedy that tells the story of the second wife of one of the Tudor monarchs.

This show is a melodrama in which romanticism and nostalgic foreshadowing catch the audience from the beginning.

In fact, it is one of the first compositions to fully participate in the Italian romantic movement. In addition, it is part of the "Tudor Trilogy": the three Donizetti operas that revolve around the figure of Elizabeth I of England.
