Amstel brings together the five #SomEsmorzadores finalist baristas to choose the best lunch of 2023

The final of the #SomEsmorzadors initiative by Amstel, from the HEINEKEN Spain group, will be held on October 28, at 10 a.m., within the Estrellas Gastro Fest festival in the Jardines de Viveros.

More than 150 Valencian hoteliers have entered the competition, modifying or adding ingredients to traditional recipes. The public has chosen five finalists who, within the framework of the Estrellas GastroFest festival, will prepare their recipes live and defend them before a jury.

The jury is made up of a representative of the hospitality sector, José Gómez, José Gómez, co-owner of the Gómez Group and winner of the Cacau d'Or in 2019; the president of the bakers' union, Juanjo Rausell; a representative of the 'Dones Esmorzadores' collective and the digital community #LaCulturaDelAlmuerzo, Ana Torres; and Paco Ahedo, head of HEINEKEN Spain Events in the Valencian Community. These will be in charge of choosing the winning sandwich that will be announced at the Premis Cacau d'Or.

The event will feature the presence of the bar “A Mos Redó”, “Bar Cassalla”, “Ca Rakel”, “De Dalt” and “K Mariola”, as the five finalists, who have managed to reinvent traditional sandwich recipes such as “ Almussafes, “Chivito” or “Brascada” with innovative combinations.

The final is open to the public who will be able to taste the finalist sandwiches, the most authentic reinventions of l'esmorzar valencià.

About Amstel 'Made in Valencia'

Amstel is a beer made with 100% barley malt and more than 100 years of brewing tradition. Its relationship with Valencia has been developed for nearly 40 years through modern facilities in Quart de Poblet, as well as its active participation in Valencian culture, society and economy.

Along with Amstel Original, 100% barley malt, the Amstel family includes Amstel Radler, with natural lemon juice. Also Amstel Oro, three-course roasted malt beer. It is another recipe from Valencian brewmaster Rafael Sánchez and has been recognized as Best Beer in Spain, this time in the Lager Pilsener category at the World Beer Awards 2020.
