Madrilucía: The April Fair arrives in Madrid
The first edition will be held at Iberdrola Music: 20 days of programming, 400 booths, and the largest LED light display in Europe will surprise locals and visitors alike.
For a month, spanning 20 days, the fair will offer more than 400 booths each week, as well as spaces dedicated to Andalusian aesthetics, visual language, and the fusion of tradition, culture, art, and contemporary design.
Each Wednesday will feature the largest LED lighting display in Europe.
The first edition will take place at Iberdrola Music, a venue of almost 200,000 m² powered entirely by renewable energy.
Madrilucía and AMR Produce are the promoters of the event, which aims to bring the essence of Andalusia to the heart of the capital.
What is Madridlucía?
Madrid is preparing to host one of the main cultural and leisure events of 2026: Madrilucía, the capital's first major Andalusian fair, which will transform the city from May 9th to June 7th into a vast space for meeting, celebrating, and experiencing tradition for all ages.
Madrilucía brings the spirit of the Seville Fair to the capital with the celebration of the first major Andalusian fair.
For almost a month, the nearly 200,000 m² of the Iberdrola Music venue will be transformed into a temporary village with more than 400 booths, horses, music, gastronomy, and, above all, plenty of art, bringing the spirit of the Seville Fair to Madrid with a contemporary, open, and accessible approach. In its first edition in the capital, Madrilucía expects to receive around 800,000 visitors during its 20 days of celebration.
Rafa Coto, the project's promoter and head of the Iberdrola Music venue, states: “Madrilucía was born with a clear and ambitious goal: to become an annual event in Madrid and establish itself for a month as a space for meeting, community, and celebration. It's a festival designed to allow the city to recognize itself in a way of sharing that is part of our cultural identity. Madrilucía is a project created from scratch for Madrid, tailored to its rhythm, its scale, and its unique way of experiencing and enjoying culture.”
Holding it at Iberdrola Music reinforces the venue's commitment to creating cultural offerings for all audiences, in harmony with the local environment, and with the aim of continuing to promote Madrid as a benchmark for culture and responsible leisure, he adds.
The spaces of Madrilucía
Iberdrola Music will host this first edition of Madridlucía with different areas designed to offer a complete and diverse experience:
Plaza Candela and Music Zone
Each day, Madrilucía will transform into a stage of art and emotion, bringing together renowned figures and emerging talents in flamenco singing, guitar playing, and dance. The spirit of flamenco will come alive in the heart of Madrid, where tradition meets the new generations of flamenco artists.
The capital's first major Andalusian fair will feature live music outdoors: contemporary artists, flamenco, rociero choirs, and copla. Non-stop music in various formats: intimate acoustic sets at sunset, fusion sessions, and large-scale shows.
Festive Zone
More than 400 booths will offer catering, traditional Andalusian decor, live music, and centralized services for all visitors, creating an inclusive and vibrant experience that invites everyone to enjoy the fair to the fullest.
Cultural Zone
A space dedicated to Andalusian art, fashion, and tradition, where visitors can discover saddlery, equestrian clothing, shawls, flowers, bullfighting paintings, and gourmet products. This zone will combine heritage, creativity, and gastronomy, offering a unique journey through the cultural richness of Andalusia.
Equestrian Zone
Historic carriages, horse parades, and horse-drawn carriages will allow attendees to experience Andalusian equestrian tradition. All activities are conducted under strict animal welfare and safety standards, guaranteeing a spectacular and responsible experience.
Gastronomic Zone
Signature cuisine, food trucks, and tapas bars will come together in a diverse and carefully curated gastronomic offering, featuring classics such as traditional fried fish, provided by an internationally renowned gastronomic operator, a leader in large-scale management and quality.
Recreation Area
A space designed for family enjoyment, where the little ones can experience the magic of the fair in a safe, cheerful, and welcoming environment, with adapted rides, traditional games, and carousels.
A Cultural Legacy Reborn in Madrid
Madrilucía will revive the legacy of the great fairs that shaped Madrid's cultural history at the end of the 20th century, such as those held in the capital between 1986 and 1995, and reinterpret them from a contemporary perspective: sustainable, inclusive, and open to the world.
Here, tradition will evolve with the utmost respect. It will coexist with innovation, design, technology, and an understanding of culture as something living and shared. Madrilucía will be flamenco, yes. But also conversation, business, tourism, fashion, gastronomy, and contemporary creation.
A Sustainable and Connected Venue
Iberdrola Music is Madrid's first space specifically designed to host large-scale events year-round. Its infrastructure, location, and size make it a versatile and unique venue, capable of adapting to all kinds of formats and proposals. A space that goes beyond music to establish itself as a cultural and social landmark in the Villaverde district, in southern Madrid.
Thanks to its complete electrification using 100% green energy, Iberdrola Music allows major music, cultural, and entertainment events to take place with minimal environmental impact, preventing the emission of tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
In addition, Madrilucía will have a special mobility plan, including free shuttle buses from various points in Madrid to facilitate access for attendees to the Iberdrola Music venue, located in Villaverde.
Project Partners
Besides Iberdrola Music, as a partner and host venue, and Madrilucía itself, the project has partnered with AMR Produce in the event's development.
AMR Produce is a company specializing in the development and management of large-scale cultural projects, including festivals, venues, and entertainment experiences designed for mass audiences. The company produces and manages large-scale festivals, creates its own formats in the music, theater, and television sectors, and designs impactful, lasting, and enduring cultural experiences. Their work combines creativity, production excellence, and a strategic vision focused on sustainability and long-term planning.
Madrilucía, as the event's promoter, will contribute the Andalusian identity and essence that bring the fair to life, conveying the tradition, culture, and largest April Fair ever held in the capital.
