EducaFilmoteca: SUMMER 1993 (Carla Simón, 2017) - Online
On Thursday, March 10, we dedicated an #EducaFilmoteca session to “Verano 1993”, by Carla Simón, who has just become the first Spanish woman to win the Golden Bear at the Berlinale.
For “Summer 1993” she obtained, among other recognitions, the Goya for Best New Director. #EducaFilmoteca is an educational initiative promoted by the Spanish Film Library and aimed at ESO, Baccalaureate and FP students between 12 and 18 years old.
It is focused on stimulating critical thinking in students and promoting audiovisual literacy through the history of Spanish cinema. #EducaFilmoteca proposes a program of Spanish cinema in free morning sessions for educational centers at the Doré cinema and also online open to educational centers in any province.
These sessions will always be introduced by a pedagogical team and may also include the presence of filmmakers and other guests to encourage dialogue and reflection among students.
The films proposed to educational centers will always be accompanied by a series of educational content that will facilitate the work before and after viewing.
With these materials, the aim is for young people to discover the historical context and cultural relevance of the film, the artistic and technical team behind the narrative, and to establish relationships between cinema and other arts such as literature, theater, music or painting.
