Round table on the cinema of Paul Verhoeven + Screening of BENEDETTA

Description

We put the finishing touch to the retrospective of the Dutch filmmaker Paul Verhoeven at the Doré with the screening of his latest film, “Benedetta”.

Based on the book "Shameful Affections. Sor Benedetta:

Between Saint and Lesbian" (1987), by Judith C. Brown, the film tells the story of the daughter of a wealthy family who enters a convent to become a nun.

As she grows older, her religious fervor and strong personality lead her to make a series of decisions that revolutionize the world around her. ⁣ Before the screening there will be a round table on the work of Paul Verhoeven with the participation of Jordi Revert, film writer and author of “Paul Verhoeven” (Cátedra, 2016);

Desirée de Fez, journalist and film critic; Carlos Losilla, essayist and film critic; and Carlos Reviriego, Director of Programming at Filmoteca Española.⁣
