A version devised by Rafael Amargo for the free version of "Yerma", the classic by Federico García Lorca.

Yerma has a single project in which the personal desire and the social mandate of being a mother are intertwined, it is the tragedy in which Lorca developed with greater amplitude and highlights a central theme in his work: that of sterility and fertility. . On the protagonist he projected, without a doubt, an intimate personal problem. But the scope of the work exceeds the meaning in two directions: the mythical universal, supported by the belief that fertility is a form of salvation, and the specifically Spanish.

“In this show, I propose a very personal, very bitter review of this work by Federico García Lorca, where I focus above all on the character of the author himself, who dreams of being Yerma, his protagonist. It is an autobiography reflected in what he is, for being a man, a Yerma man.

The desire to give birth or breastfeed his child, mixed with flamenco dance, urban dance, and his wonderful words in the voice and body of actors and singers... make this Yerma a full-fledged musical.” - Raphael Bitter
