ABOUT THE SHOW:

The text of "SYNCRONÍA (A bitter comedy)" has been published in the "Nuevo teatro" collection of the publishing house "VdB". The production was premiered thanks to a residency and production grant at the "Plot Point" room and now it's coming to the "Lola Membrives" at the "Teatro Lara". The short version of the play has been selected in the "III female dramaturgy contest of Athens" and the short film inspired by the work, has been selected by the distributor "Selectefilms" and is currently participating in national and international film festivals. How did it all begin? The author began to write about a personal experience, but ended up telling and exploring themes that even she herself did not sense, such as the need to conquer the personal and shared space within a profession such as that of dramaturgy - symbolized by the empty space that dispute the protagonists -, or the parallelism and interaction that exists between vocational and emotional commitment. "SYNCRONÍA (A bitter comedy)" is also the story of a woman who becomes empowered and a man who matures both personally and professionally. And it is the reunion of two artists and ex-lovers, who discover themselves different from how they remembered, but preserving a chemistry and an attraction of which they are aware. All this sprinkled with sarcastic and ironic dialogues, which draw closer, disarm and surprise the characters themselves and the viewer who becomes the main witness of this story. The montage shown in the "Lola Membrives" room is directed by the author herself, Sandra Marchena, who also stars in the play alongside Rafa Higuera, an actor known for musicals such as "Billy Elliot" or "Mamma mia", among others, and who, like Sandra, began his artistic career staging his own comic monologues on the "Paramount Comedy" channel.
