Course: "The Opera and History" Opera Appreciation and History Course From Monday, September 27, 2021 to January 17, 2022 Laughter at the Opera is the first of the three modules of the history of opera cycle that Casa de México is offering over the next few months and which will also cover Opera and Literature, and Opera and History. Led by the director Víctor Manuel Dogar, we will take a tour of the evolution of opera within its historical context, focusing on its comic side. We will be able to appreciate, through the selection of audiovisual examples, the greatness of this genre, while we unravel the secrets that hide its scripts, its music and its staging. About Victor Manuel Dogar Graduated in Dramatic Art and Stage Direction from the Royal Higher School of Dramatic Art in Madrid, this actor and director has developed his career over more than 30 years in numerous jobs in Film, TV and especially theater, coming to create his own company "Teatro del Biombo". For more than a decade he has combined his artistic work with his pedagogical work, teaching courses on the approach and understanding of the Opera and its staging. His way of approaching this genre from a different perspective and away from brainy academicism, have turned his classes into a unique reference.

IMPORTANT:

In compliance with article 14 of Royal Decree-Law 21/2020, of June 9, on urgent prevention, containment and coordination measures to deal with the health crisis caused by COVID-19, Fundación Casa de México in Spain has established , for all visits to Casa de México, the following rules and recommendations, which all visitors must comply with and respect: Visitor Rules: All tickets are subject to a capacity control, please be punctual in access, respecting the time assigned at the time of purchasing your ticket. All the public, including those waiting to access, must keep an interpersonal safety distance of 1.5 meters.

The capacity has been reduced to the seventy-five percent allowed for each of the rooms and public spaces. The visits will be individual, understanding as such both the visit of a person and that of a family unit or similar coexistence unit (maximum 5 people), provided that the interpersonal safety distance is maintained.

The use of a mask is essential to access Casa de México in Spain and throughout the stay inside. Each participant registered in an activity must show their ticket to the access control staff, avoiding contact. The use of lifts is restricted to visitors with reduced mobility and pushchairs, with limited capacity inside. Please use the stairs. Limited capacity in services to keep distance.
