Description

'Noches de La Maestranza' is one of the most ambitious cultural events in Spain. The festival will bring together renowned national and international artists in the iconic Real Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza, one of Seville's main tourist attractions, boasting over 250 years of history.

It was built on a rise near the Guadalquivir River, called Monte del Baratillo, to replace the temporary wooden bullrings that had previously stood on a site close to its current location.

As a bullring, it is one of the most challenging in the world due to its layout and characteristics. The building has an irregular design, the result of construction spanning more than a century.

The structure we see today is a late Baroque architectural style, closely bordering on Classicism, and its main entrance is a particularly striking feature.

Declared a Site of Cultural Interest and part of Spain's Historical Heritage, it is currently considered one of the city's most popular tourist attractions and is among its most visited monuments.

Since its construction, the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza has hosted numerous festivities, activities, and events. It is the venue for the bullfights held during Seville's April Fair, one of the most renowned bullfighting events in the world, and in 2022 it will host the first concert series in its history, the Noches de la Maestranza Festival.
