Description

El Rámper is a musical-theatrical show composed by Jesús Bienvenido in which he narrates, through the intimate history of his character, the harsh repression suffered by the authors, directors and performers of the murga and the choir in those years since The coup d'état took place in July 1936 against the government of the Spanish Republic, which led to the Civil War. Rámper (Madrid clown famous in the twenties, who inspired some groups of the time such as "Los Rámper filarmónicos" by Manuel López Cañamaque) is the inspirer, in this case, of a murga of which the protagonist is the author and through which, in addition to receiving a lot of recognition from the public, is nicknamed for life as "Rámper". The plot unfolds through Rámper's memories and the texts are mixed with varied rhythms such as the Peruvian waltz, the landó, circus music and some flamenco styles such as the Malagueña. El Rámper seeks, from its social and political dimension, to narrate in the first person the reality of the repression unleashed by the military rebels with respect to Art in general in Spain, specifically in Andalusia, as well as the importance of historical memory for the dignity of the victims and for the total closure of the wounds caused in those years.
