20th September is the day Valencians share this dish with the world. We celebrate that it has crossed frontiers, going beyond specific recipes or forbidden ingredients. Paella is international, one of the most searched dishes on the Internet. And it is prepared and enjoyed all around the planet.
This year, there will be activities in more than 30 countries, in such cities as Paris, Oslo, Moscow and Chicago. Alongside these, Valencia has organised WPD Restaurant Week, with special set menus featuring rice dishes at 28 restaurants. And it has put together the second edition of the World Paella Day Cup to choose the best paella in the world.
