Cinema without cinema

Description

This illustrated conference aims to investigate the definition of cinema and its possible transgressions.
A film composed of words, is it still cinema? Can the optical track be confused with the image? Is it possible to use the camera as a body prosthesis?

With several films by John Latham, Guy Sherwin, Norman McLaren, Len Lye, Marie Menken, Ana Vaz and the collective Los Ingrávidos, this session offers some clues to think about the limits of the medium.
