Description
After conquering the Iberian Peninsula and dethroning the Bourbons, Napoleon Bonaparte installed his great German Josep on the throne of Spain and the Indies.
Joseph I arrived in Madrid on July 20, 1808. On the 29th, just three days later, the victory of the Spanish army in Bailèn provoked revolts against the new monarch, forcing him to flee Madrid. Josep is a refugee in his house in Vitòria. Napoleon, aware of his flight from his German family, traveled from Paris to Victoria to demand his immediate return to Madrid.
The two Germans spend the night of November 5th in a rural house in Vitòria. We are alone, there will be no testimonies; But I can predict that it will be a night of confessions, jealousies, disputes and malfiances.
