Spanish Filmoteca celebrates its 70th anniversary with the exhibition "70years 7pieces 7cinematographers"
7 filmmakers and personalities of the seventh art - Ester Espósito, Jonas Trueba, Teresa Font, Santiago Segura, Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, Albert Serra and Eduardo Casanova - have chosen 7 objects representative of the history of cinema from a preselection n of 70 pieces, made by Filmoteca Española, that travel through history from the animated images from the late 18th century to the 21st century.
These objects serve as a pretext to approach from different perspectives the history of Filmoteca, of cinema itself and Spanish cinema, of its audiences, and to publicly rethink the meaning of a Filmoteca of the 21st century.
The 7 pieces the sample revolves around are:
The original mask of José Antonio Sanchez for the devil from "The Day of the Beast" (Alex de la Iglesia, 1995), chosen by Ester Espósito
The discardments of the negative of "Las Hurdes, land without bread" (Luis Buñuel, 1932-1933), piece selected by Albert Serra
The forks created by Felix Murcia for the terrace of Pepa, Carmen Maura, in Women on the edge of a nerve attack (Pedro Almodóvar, 1988), chosen by Eduardo Casanova
A vertical handkerchief selected by Teresa Font
A photograph album from the Madrid Film Laboratories that includes images of the launch in 1911 and the consequences of the fire that ravaged them in 1950, chosen by Santiago Segura
The call for the First National Cinematic Conversations, promoted and organized by the Cine Club of the University of Salamanca, responsible Basilio Martin Patino, chosen by Jonas Trueba
The film directed by Alice Guy "Chien jouant à la valle" (1905), the oldest film preserved in Filmoteca Española directed by a woman, selected by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa
