Description
Alba Farelo, artistically known as Bad Gyal, is a Spanish dancehall and trap singer from Vilassar de Mar and born in 1997. She became known on the YouTube platform, uploading video clips of her songs. In 2016, her popularity was growing frantically getting millions of views on her videos. Ella bad Gyal, she composes songs in both Spanish and Catalan, being a pioneer in trap in the latter language.
Many of her consider her the queen of trap in Spain, although she always makes it clear that her style is much closer to dancehall. Her inspiration comes directly from Jamaica and her culture. Some of the artists who have most influenced her music are Queen Latifah, Lauryn Hill or Vybz Kartel.
Among her most successful songs we find the version of Rihanna's Work song in Catalan, entitled Pai, Jacaranda, Mercadona, Indapanden, Fiebre o Turn me on. Among the producers with whom she has worked are Dubbel Dutch, Gummo KNK, King Dou Dou, Fakeguido or Faberoa. Apart from the success that she has achieved solo, Bad Gyal has collaborated with other artists from the world of trap, such as Ms Nina, Lil Guiu or Khaled.
