Description
Nick León
Nick León's dystopian club music draws from the sounds of Florida's diverse ecosystems, but his style has bravely shifted along the way. After starting out in South Florida's Soundcloud rap scene at a young age, Nick quickly gravitated toward Latin sounds originating from Puerto Rico and Colombia. Nick released his critically acclaimed EP, Xtasis, on TraTraTrax, which featured DJ Babatr in 2022 and earned production credits from genre-defying artists such as Rosalía, Tokischa, and Oklou. His collaboration with Erika De Casier, released on TraTraTrax in 2024, has been hailed as one of, if not the, best songs of the year by outlets such as Pitchfork, The Guardian, Crack, and Resident Advisor.
Sapphire Lettuce
Combining the exploratory nature of dance culture and the poetry of sound design, Uruguayan sound artist Pablo de Vargas, also known as Sapphire Lettuce, seeks to express the nuances of the Latin American experience through his music. With his debut track, "Sapo de Manga," released in 2013 on Cómeme, his two EPs, "Aequs Nyama" (Salviatek, 2015) and "Testimony" (NAAFI, 2018), garnered reviews from Pitchfork, The Guardian, Resident Advisor, and FACT. He has collaborated with experimental music pioneers Matmos, with transgressive performer Linn da Quebrada, and has remixed artists on the Shanghai-based label SVBKVLT.
Ehua
Italian-Ivorian producer and DJ Ehua has been shaking up the scene since her 2018 debut EP, "Diplozoon," on Femme Culture. Since then, he's remixed for Ninja Tune, played at some of Europe's most iconic festivals, and has a show on Milan's Radio Raheem, where he explores experimental techno. His recent releases include Aquamarine via Nervous Horizon and Venom. Away from club music, Ehua also has an interest in the arts and has composed a number of soundtracks for short films and art performances, in addition to being part of GRIOT, an influential collective focused on the arts of Africa and its diaspora.
