“25 Tour” is the name of the tour that Mikel Urdangarin is carrying out this year on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his musical career. In a new stage in which he intends to embrace his most indie side, the well-known Basque singer will tour different points, both in Spain and internationally, with stops including Brooklyn, Manhattan and Okinawa, among others. All this within a series of concerts that will bring him back to Madrid, but this time in a very special format. He will do it alone, fundamentally in front of the piano, although he will also perform some songs on the guitar. It will be, without a doubt, a most special event in which he will review his career and his most outstanding songs, many of which have already become true legends of Basque music. A true delight for those attending the concert on May 21 at the Café Berlín who will have the opportunity to enjoy live and intimately one of the most renowned artists on the Basque music scene.

25 years dedicated to music. Years of success and experience, tireless companions and hundreds of concerts, years in which we have seen an audience mature, which has always incorporated new blood. He is not a great friend of ephemerides, nor of large numbers. Celebrations, jousts, always surrounded by his friends, but 25 years have passed since that first job and it is inevitable to look back to continue moving forward. As his friend the writer Kirmen Uribe used to say, it seems that Mikel's songs come out spontaneously, that he doesn't hinder the music that he carries inside him. And we listen to his songs with ease, although the composition work has been very complex. And with that spontaneity he published his first works, Haitzetan (1997) and Badira hiru aste (1998). They include themes that people are still humming, as if they were popular songs, of a lifetime. And that's the best thing that can happen to a song. Throughout all these years Mikel has been lucky enough to tour, either with his guitar or with the piano; well accompanied, well alone, stages of countless countries. Very different audiences have enjoyed his honesty and his work on stage. We can say, without fear of being wrong, that Mikel is in his best moment.
