As Catedrais Silenciadas is the third album by the musician Xabier Díaz together with the Adufeiras de Salitre, perhaps the work that best reflects the essence of their meeting and, probably, the one that explores the limits of that format in more depth.

The title is a cry of alert to the progressive depopulation of rural Galicia, the disappearance of the village and its ways of life. This project, which has already passed through 15 countries and exceeded 200 concerts, finally arrives in Madrid to present his latest work, after a successful summer tour in which tickets sold out on almost all dates. Xabier Díaz combines his facets as a musician and composer with a laborious activity as a researcher and compiler of traditional Galician folklore.

As a result of this work, he edited Coplas para Icía (2007) with the participation of Pedro Lamas and Suso Iglesias. Xabier Díaz (A Coruña 1969) is one of the most recognized musicians in Galicia. With his voice, Xabier Díaz has participated in numerous renowned groups such as Berrogüetto, Rumbadeira or Nova Galega de Danza. In recent years he has starred together with Gaudi Galego, Guillermo Fernández and Xosé Lois Romero, in the aCadaCanto project.

Throughout his career he has collaborated on many recordings and concerts with artists such as Luar na Lubre, Amancio Prada, Kepa Junkera, Fuxan os Ventos, Uxía and Xosé Manuel Budiño.
