The Brian Jonestown Massacre formed in San Francisco, California, in 1990. They've been instrumental in the development of the modern American garage scene, and many musicians from Los Angeles and San Francisco got their start playing with Anton Newcombe. His influence continues to reach far and wide and can be heard in the current crop of psychedelic bands on the UK scene, such as The Horrors and Toy.
