Art as Refuge
Presented by David Bueno
Monday, June 29, 2026. This dialogue explores how illness and periods of confinement influenced the work of Henri Matisse, becoming a driving force in his artistic evolution. On the one hand, we will analyze Matisse's artistic and personal context; on the other, we will address, from a neuroscience perspective, how art can influence our brain and contribute to our mental health. Through this exploration, the talk will reflect on the role of art in difficult times and how Matisse transformed his confinement into a space of artistic freedom and renewal.
