Guided Tour
The Anatomy of Blur
A tour with ophthalmologist Carmen Fernández Jacob. From June 17 to September 17, 2026. This guided tour is an invitation to view art from a different perspective: that of the workings of vision and the anatomy of the human eye. Led by Carmen Fernández Jacob—a biologist, ophthalmologist, and art history enthusiast—we will explore the exhibition “Blur: Another Vision of Art,” examining how we see, what limits or conditions our gaze, and how this influences both artistic creation and its perception. This tour combines technical knowledge and aesthetic sensibility to discover that blurring can also be a revealing way of seeing.
Led by:
Carmen Fernández Jacob, PhD in Biological Sciences and graduate in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid, specializing in Ophthalmology. She is the author of the book *Ocular Pathology in Painting Through the Ophthalmological Clinical History*, as well as numerous articles on art and ocular pathology. She is a regular contributor to Citizen magazine and has given lectures on art and medicine at the Prado Museum, the Madrid Medical Association, Complutense University, and the University of the Basque Country. She is also president of the Spanish Association of Physicians, Writers, and Artists (ASEMEYA).
