Synopsis:
Víctor, a widowed father, and his young daughter Julia flee Spain after the fall of Barcelona to Franco's forces in January 1939. Concentration camps and hardship await them in France. But there is a chance to escape: boarding the Winnipeg, a cargo ship chartered by Neruda and the Quakers of Paris, to take them safely to a new destination: Valparaíso, Chile, where a new life is possible.
Based on the screenplay by Laura Martel of the graphic novel “Winnipeg, Neruda's Ship.”
