The entire production includes a cast of very extraordinary characters: the tenor José Cura embodies the Moor of Venice with an acting intensity and an imposing physical presence, the soprano Dorothea Röschmann with a full interpretation of lyrical nuances and the Spanish baritone Carlos Álvarez a magical lliçó distilled by an icy manipulation perfect. Acclaimed by critics as a “triomf of aesthetics and drama.”
